The International Safety Equipment Association (ISEA), the leading association for safety equipment and an ANSI-accredited standards developer, announces the launch of its newly designed e-newsletter. Protection Update is a free quarterly e-newsletter with the purpose of raising awareness on the importance of workplace health and safety, and the important role of personal protective equipment (PPE) in keeping workers safe.
Exclusively distributed through a partnership with the National Safety Council’s (NSC) Safety+Health magazine, Protection Update is located on the Safety+Health website. “We are excited to be working with ISEA on this new partnership. The newsletter will provide National Safety Council members and Safety+Health readers with expert content about the latest trends in worker protection,” said Safety+Health Publisher Suzanne Powills.
Each issue will feature articles on worker protection from industry leaders, updates on safety standards, policy developments, and innovative products and services from ISEA member companies.
“Our partnership with Safety+Health has enabled ISEA to greatly expand our audience, while remaining true to our founding principles: to protect the health and safety of workers who are exposed to hazardous and potentially harmful environments,” said ISEA President Daniel K. Shipp.
The current issue highlights Protective Apparel, including Flame Resistant (FR) clothing and High-Visibility work-wear. Safety advocate Brad Livingston shares his gut-wrenching story and reveals the struggle of shortcuts, safety, and the importance of PPE after surviving two gas explosions while welding on the job. The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) provides an update on the upcoming National Work Zone Awareness Week in March, and a wedding dress designer credits teamwork and “transferable skills” in finding solutions to improve PPE for Ebola medical workers.
